CINCINNATI— Be among the first to purchase tickets to the Cincinnati Art Museum’s special exhibition Terracotta Army: Legacy of the First Emperor of China or purchase a membership for exclusive access and more benefits. Tickets and memberships are now available online and at the museum front desk. The exhibition explores the formation and vast influence of China’s landmark Qin dynasty, and will be on view April 20–August 12, 2018.

Terracotta Army features 120 objects drawn from the collections of Chinese art museums and archaeological institutes, including terracotta figures of warriors, arms and armor, ritual bronze vessels, works in gold and silver, jade ornaments, precious jewelry and ceramics. More than 40 of these works have never been on view in the U.S. before this exhibition.

Due to expected crowds, the museum will require timed tickets to provide visitors with the most comfortable experience due to the capacity of our exhibition. With a timed ticket, a pre-established number of guests enter during each interval, allowing visitors to enjoy shorter lines and a better viewing experience.

Tickets for Terracotta Army are free for Cincinnati Art Museum members. General adult admission tickets are $16 at the museum, $14 with discount code ONLINE at cincinnatiartmuseum.org/terracottatickets. Tickets are $8 for college students, seniors (65+) and children (6-17 years). Dates and times must be selected at time of purchase. Allow at least one hour to view the exhibition. Tickets are for a self-guided tour and are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another date or time.

CAM Family Membership passholders receive two adult and up to five child tickets per visit. Individual CAM members receive one free ticket per visit. Timed tickets are required for members, and can be acquired online (sign in to account required) or at the front desk of the museum.

During the run of the exhibition, the Cincinnati Art Museum will offer extended member hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9 a.m.–11 a.m. Members and paying guests accompanied by a member may reserve tickets in-person at the front desk. The entire museum will be open including the Museum Shop, Rosenthal Education Center (REC) and Coffee Bar. Regular museum hours start at 11 a.m. daily.

Free docent-led tours of Terracotta Army will be available to CAM members at 9:15 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays during the exhibition. To attend a member-only public tour, request a tour ticket at the front desk and meet at the exhibition entrance at 9:15 a.m. Docent-led tours have a 20 person capacity and are subject to availability. To request a non-member school or group tour, please contact [email protected].

Free access to the exhibition will be available on Thursday evenings from 5–8 p.m. and from 5–9 p.m. during Art After Dark events on Friday, April 27, May 25, June 29 and July 27. Timed tickets are required during these times, and must be acquired day-of, in-person at the front desk during operating hours.
