Joi n us for a lecture by internationally renowned artist Shahzia Sikander co -presented by the Cincinnati Art Museum and the Cincinnati Asian Art Soci ety in honor of CAM’s exhibition Shahzia Sikander: Colle ctive Behavior. For more than three decades\, the Pakistani-American artist has been animating South Asian visual histories through a contemp orary feminist perspective. Her influential work in video\, mosaic\, glas s\, and painting reimagines the past for our present moment\, proposing n ew possibilities for the future. The exhibition is the largest presentati on of Sikander’s work to date and premiered as a Collateral Event at Veni ce’s Biennale Arte. After the lecture a conversation with the artist will be moderated by CAM Curator Ainsley M. Cameron.
