Lithography is a print medium that is widely used by ar tists around the world. As can be seen in the George Bellows: American Life in Print exhibition\, lithography presents the opportunity to make prints with vast nuances of value\, granular fidelity and detail \, and free\, painterly expressions. This workshop will guide participant s in using Pronto-Plates to make their own lithographic prints through ca reful demonstrations of drawing methods and the printing process. Ample t ime and encouragement will be provided to experiment and play with drawin g\, painting\, and printing.

Artist Bio

J ase Flannery is an artist and educator living in Cincinnati. He is a prof essor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati where he primarily teaches in the Print Media department. His artistic practice explores expansive approach es to the medium of print that often take the work beyond two dimensions and question the nature of the medium itself. He most recently participat ed in a print-focused artist residency in Oaxaca\, Mexico.
