Join us for an int roduction to the hidden gems of East Asian art rediscovered through advan ced research and conservation at the Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM). In this talk with Curator of East Asian Art Hou-mei Sung\, Ph.D.\, she will high light pieces that entered the museum in the late 19th and early 20th cent uries when CAM had no staff to identify or document Asian art. The redisc overy of these objects and their subsequent research and conservation hav e not only changed the identities of many individual art works\, but also the overall dynamics of the entire collection. Together\, they shed new light on the early and consequential cultural and artistic exchanges betw een Cincinnati and East Asia. \;
