Additional Resources

Our library, The Mary R. Schiff Library & Archives, is also an excellent resource for reference material and artist information. It is open Tuesday–Friday and second Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. To ask a question or request an appointment at the library, you can email [email protected] or call (513) 639-2978.

If you are looking for information beyond what the museum can provide, you should contact an appraiser in your area. There are two main resources for finding reputable appraisers – The American Society of Appraisers, and the International Society of Appraisers. On each site you should be able to search by geographic region or by specialty. These are independent organizations and are in no way affiliated with the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Member Testimonial

“I enjoyed my brief but enlightening visit with Kristin Spangenberg and her colleague regarding questions about Prints and Paper Conservation. I felt more informed and even more curious after our discussions. This is a worthwhile service which the art museum offers to members wanting to learn more about their art possessions.  This visit has whetted my appetite to discover more about the artists of my two works of art! Thank you for your part in this on-going quest.”
