African artifacts including ritual performance masks, tools used by healers, objects of status used by community leaders, textiles and other decorative items used in the home, will go on view, some for the first time. The new location, in Gallery 103, on the first floor near the Rosenthal Education Center (REC), allows easy access for visitors.

New photography exhibition opens

Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 through June 11, 2017

The Cincinnati Art Museum invites visitors to experience the new photography special exhibit, The Poetry of Place: William Clift, Linda Connor and Michael Kenna. Featuring landscape and interior scenes, The Poetry of Place showcases 18 black-and-white photographs. The artworks, all from the museum’s permanent collection, hint at themes of memory and time, uniting images of an ethereal, serene world.

… and don’t forget to make a wish at our holiday favorite, Tree of Life, on view through Jan. 8, 2017, and find that extra special something at the Holiday Gift Shop.
