Next week from Monday June 29 through Friday July 3 from 9-4 is CAM’s third week of Summer Camp. For each of the 8 weeks of Summer Camp, we’ll provide a sneak peek into one project campers will be creating! Check our blog for weekly updates!
Look around you, art can be made out of anything, and this week at Material World campers will get to create with all kinds of unusual materials and techniques. Something we’re especially excited about is this Dale Chihuly inspired piece. Campers will design and color their own Macchia bowl using colored marker transparencies, and a heating tool. Like magic we will see the colored plastic sheet melt into a funky new form.
Materials for this project:
Heat gun with access to electrical outlet
Transparencies
Colored permanent markers
Rubber bands
Clay or ceramic or terracotta form
