Still Life with Sunset is an oil on canvas. It dates from 1966. It is part of a private collection in Washington, DC.

This is a vertical oil painting on canvas called Still Life with Sunset. In the top horizontal third is the sunset, with a red sun in a crimson sky. There is a purplish-red band below it and a purplish-gray band to the right, both of which look like parts of a windowsill. The still life is in the middle of the painting. Most of it is contained within a large circle that looks like a flattened tabletop with a curved leg sticking out to the right. The still life has thick brushstrokes of red, white, yellow, blue, and green. There are some recognizable objects, like a compote in the middle, and others that vaguely look like a vase or a book. It is a very abstract arrangement. Below the table is what looks like a book with a dark-red cover and a purple rug on a dark floor. On the right is another abstracted collection of brushstrokes, but more geometric, in warm shades of red, yellow, and orange with a little blue and green mixed in.
