Please stay tuned for upcoming Consult-a-Curator program dates

Do you have a piece of artwork that you would like to learn more about? All Museum Members are invited to bring up to two items to be examined by our curators or conservators in our twice-a-year Consult-a-Curator event.

Curators will be on hand to examine:

• American paintings, sculpture and drawings
• East Asian art (China, Japan, Korea)
• Decorative arts and design
• European paintings, sculpture and drawings
• Fashion arts and textiles
• Islamic art
• South and Southeast Asian art
• Photography
• Prints

Conservators will be available for consultation on repair and restoration of objects, paintings, works on paper or textiles. It is helpful if paintings, prints, drawings, or photographs are presented unframed.

Curators cannot provide monetary appraisals, monetary valuations of any kind, or supply written opinions.

This event is free for Art Museum Members to attend. Find out more about Art Museum Membership. Members will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. To expedite the process, please complete the Registration Form in advance of the event.

Participants are asked to enter through the Dewitt Entrance. Your works of art will not be permitted in the galleries.

For questions or more information, please contact the Membership Department at [email protected] or (513) 639-2966.

Additional Resources

Our library is also an excellent resource for reference material and artist information. It is open Tuesday-Friday, 11am-5pm and the 2nd Saturday of each month (September – June), 11am-5pm. The library can be reached at (513) 639-2978 or at [email protected]

If you are looking for information beyond what the Art Museum can provide, you should contact an appraiser in your area. There are two main resources for finding reputable appraisers – The American Society of Appraisers, and the International Society of Appraisers. On each site you should be able to search by geographic region or by specialty. These are independent organizations and are in no way affiliated with the Art Museum.
