About the exhibition:

In a digital age when maintaining identity and creative property is paramount, the exhibition Black & Brown Faces: VERIFIED presents works that aim to educate and celebrate the overall impact of Black & Brown culture in Entertainment, Health & Science, Beauty & Fashion, and Food & Agriculture on a global scale. This year’s exhibition presents the work of 15 accomplished artists of color from across the Midwest, showcasing their unique perspectives on the immense influence of Black & Brown culture.

Simultaneously, the works in this multimedia exhibition reflect the makers’ concepts of being verified as an originator in a society where artists of color have historically struggled to maintain ownership of intellectual and creative property. VERIFIED asks artists and visitors alike, "How can innovators benefit from the widespread adoption—on a national or international scale—of their individual ideas?"
