Summer Teacher Institute 2017: The Art of Craft

When: Tuesday July 18th- Thursday July 20th
Where: Tuesday and Wednesday at CAM
Field Trip: Thursday on site at the American Sign Museum!
You are invited to attend the 15th annual Summer Teacher Institute. This year’s theme is inspired by our current exhibition A Shared Legacy: Folk Art in America. You will receive a guided tour of this whimsical exhibition from our wonderful docent team. We will have a variety of guest presenters from members of our curatorial staff to graphic designer and photographer Chris Glass of PhotoCorps. Plus we will be making and creating! Come to practice the art of batik with wax and dye, design and make your very own carousal animal and try your hand at brush lettering. If all that isn’t exciting enough, how about a field trip to the Queen City’s hidden gem, the American Sign Museum! The field trip includes a guided tour, a stop in Neon Works, and so much more. Registration is open till Friday July 7th, hope you can come!
