The Way We Are Now: Selections from the 21c Collection at the Cincinnati Art Museum showcases more than seventy important works that let us see the critical issues most affecting modern society. These artworks are drawn from the collection of 21c Museum Hotel, which will be opening a branch here in Cincinnati in 2012. Among the works selected for this exhibition are photographs, video, mixed media installations and sculpture by leaders of contemporary art, ranging from regional standouts to an international who’s who: Stephen Irwin, Jose Maria Cano, Chuck Close, Loretta Lux, Elena Dorfman, Din Q Le, Mickalene Thomas, Tony Oursler, Yinka Shonibare and more. In this first of what is anticipated to be a stream of future collaborations, the Cincinnati Art Museum is pleased to team up with 21c, pioneers in bringing people and art together.
