This half-day professional development retreat, featuring Sherry Cook Stanforth at Columbia Tusculum’s historical Carnegie Center, offers teachers and community program leaders a creative escape. We will explore Cincinnati’s unique territory in the Ohio River Watershed, flowing with artistic inspiration, Urban Appalachian culture and history, and ecological surprises. We will practice a range of skills (field observation, personal meditation, narrative interpretation, and arts-based invention) to design unique, easy-to-implement classroom and collaborative community projects highlighting the value of creative processes and storytelling techniques.
