Adventure into the world of legends and enchanted creatures in this camp week. Campers will explore myths and create stories as they explore the museum’s galleries. Then, through hands-on projects, they’ll design tiny worlds, create friendly monsters, invent their own characters, and more. Each project encourages them to tell a story through art. The week concludes with an art show where families can experience the magical worlds the campers have brought to life.
June 22–26
June 29–July 3
Discover the beauty of nature in this camp week inspired by the museum’s landscape artwork. Through gallery exploration, campers will explore how artists across time have captured forests, mountains, rivers, skies, and the creatures that inhabit them. Then, they will create their own wild worlds—drawing “en plein air,” imagining animals in their habitats, and building natural scenes. The week concludes with an art show where families can experience the wild places the campers have created. Please note that this camp week involves outdoor exploration on museum grounds and in Eden Park.
July 13–17
July 20–24
Transform imagination into wearable art in this camp week inspired by the exhibition Elizabeth Hawes: Radical American Fashion. Through gallery exploration and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the museum’s fashion collection, campers will discover how artists over time have used clothing as a form of expression. Then, they’ll design their own wearable creations through hands-on projects—ranging from masks and colorful costumes to inventive accessories. The week culminates with a runway showcase for families where campers can show off their wearable masterpieces.
July 27–31
August 3–7
Journey across centuries of creativity in this camp week. Each day, campers will step into a different era of art history, from ancient sculpture to Renaissance painting to contemporary prints. Through gallery exploration, campers will discover how artists of the past captured their world. Then, they’ll create hands-on projects inspired by the techniques and traditions of each time period. By the end of the week, these young time travelers will have built a portfolio of artworks that reflect their own creative voice while connecting to the stories of art through time. The week concludes with an art show where families can experience the artwork the campers have created.
