Christmas came early for Conservation this week with the arrival of a cold-suction conservation table! Vacuum suction is an important tool in the conservators’ repertoire as it allows us to gently but evenly hold an object flat under suction, draw solvents through the material being conserved, and control wicking and movement during treatment. The dome allows for controlled humidification when needed. Our cold-suction table was purchased with a generous grant from the Stockman Family Foundation. Stay tuned to see how we use this new equipment to improve our care and treatment of textiles and works on paper.
The Cincinnati Art Museum is supported by the generosity of tens of thousands of contributors to the ArtsWave Community Campaign, the region's primary source for arts funding.
Free general admission to the Cincinnati Art Museum is made possible by a gift from the Rosenthal Family Foundation. Exhibition pricing may vary. Parking at the Cincinnati Art Museum is free.
Generous support for our extended Thursday hours is provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.
