This peacock feather headdress, designed by Rudi Gernreich, is getting ready to go on display in The Total Look: The Creative Collaboration Between Rudi Gernreich, Peggy Moffitt and William Claxton Exhibition. The headdress has been in the Objects Conservation Lab for treatment after a few of the delicate peacock feathers were bent out of shape causing them to look ruffled and out of place. The Objects Conservator has been working to reshape them by lightly humidifying the feathers and using a soft brush to ease them back into place. After this last minute spruce up the headdress will be ready to make its appearance at CAM on February 28th in The Total Look!
