Class Experiences

Class Experiences are detailed, art-based activities on works from the Cincinnati Art Museum's permanent collection. These lessons provide teachers with information on a work of art and step-by-step directions on how to integrate art looking and art making in the classroom. While created for programs with specific audiences in mind, these lessons can all be adapted to fit your specific grade level or classroom scenario. We encourage creative interpretation!

Teacher Guides

Teacher Guides provide detailed information on a particular artist and/or work from the Cincinnati Art Museum's permanent collection. While giving background information, these guides also provide curriculum connections, critical thinking questions and resources for further study.

Discovering the Story

Discovering the Story utilizes works of art from the Cincinnati Art Museum's collection in conjunction with historical facts and data compiled by various community partners, such as Hamilton County Public Libraries and the Greater Cincinnati Television Educational Foundation (CET). The story of Cincinnati is told in all its glory highlighting the Underground Railroad and Cincinnati's Golden Age, 1850-1900.

Through a Child's Eyes

Through a Child's Eyes brings art, community and young eyes creatively together. Through seven sequential educational units, students ranging from Pre-school through Third grade explore community while building skills in math, science, language arts, social studies, art and music. Complimented by a Focus Book and Focus Artwork, each unit engages and enlightens your students.
